This Privacy Policy explains how EV-BOY handles information in the EV-BOY mobile apps, including the iOS app, Android app, CarPlay experience, Android Auto experience, and the mobile app shell that loads the EV-BOY charging-station map at https://maps.ev-boy.com/.

Information We Collect

EV-BOY is designed to help drivers find electric-vehicle charging stations. The app does not require you to create an account.

Depending on the features you choose to use, the app may process the following information:

  • Location information: if you grant location permission, the app uses your current or last-known location to show your position, center the map, and find nearby charging stations. CarPlay and Android Auto surfaces may send your latitude and longitude to EV-BOY map services to return nearby station results.
  • Notification information: if you enable availability alerts, the app may register a push notification token, the stations you choose to watch, and notification delivery status so EV-BOY can send charging-station availability alerts.
  • Analytics and diagnostic information: the app may use Firebase Analytics and similar diagnostics to understand app usage, feature reliability, crashes, performance, device type, operating system, app version, and general event activity. EV-BOY disables advertising ID collection where supported.
  • Local app identifiers: the app and map may store an anonymous user identifier, preferences, watched stations, and related settings in local storage, cookies, or similar device storage so the app can remember your choices.
  • Network information: when you use the app, servers and third-party services may automatically receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser or app user agent, request time, and pages or API endpoints requested.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate and improve EV-BOY services, including to:

  • show the charging-station map and nearby charging-station information;
  • provide station watch and availability notification features;
  • maintain app security, reliability, debugging, and abuse prevention;
  • measure app performance and understand which features are useful; and
  • comply with legal, regulatory, and platform requirements.

Location

Location permission is optional. You can use the app without granting location access, but nearby-station and current-position features may be limited. EV-BOY does not use location permission to track you in the background for advertising. You can change location permission at any time in your device settings.

Push Notifications

Notifications are optional. If you enable notifications, EV-BOY uses your push token and watched-station choices only to provide charging-station availability alerts and related app messages. You can disable notifications in the app or in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

The app may rely on third-party services to provide core functionality, including Firebase / Google services for analytics and cloud messaging, Apple and Google platform services, OpenStreetMap map tiles and attribution, and external map/navigation apps when you choose to open directions. These providers process information under their own privacy policies.

Sharing

EV-BOY does not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app and website, when required by law, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or reorganization.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Local app data can be removed by clearing app or browser storage, removing watched stations, or uninstalling the app. Server-side notification registrations may be removed when tokens become invalid, when alerts are disabled, or when no longer needed.

Your Choices

  • You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings.
  • You can deny or revoke notification permission in your device settings.
  • You can clear local app data from your browser or device settings.
  • You can contact us to request help with privacy questions relating to EV-BOY mobile apps.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

EV-BOY mobile apps are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
